The Hippodrome, owned and operated by Edison Properties since 1978, has received the USGBC's Silver LEED Certification.
Over the last year, Edison Properties has initiated environmentally friendly programs in many of its businesses, including Manhattan Mini Storage and Edison ParkFast. Mayor Bloomberg was on hand for the unveiling of NYC's first public electric car charging station at Edison ParkFast's 9th Avenue and 35th street location, which also began offering safe, secure and affordable bicycle parking in September.
In addition to the upgraded LEED certification, The Hippodrome, located at 1120 Avenue of the Americas, has earned the EPA's ENERGY STAR.
